psychological research demonstrates we perceive curved and wavy lines positively. one study found participants were more likely to describe interior design featuring round and organic forms as “beautiful” and designs featuring linear forms as “not beautiful”

other research suggests wavy lines are associated with feelings of calm. this might be due to their association with nature eg plant leaves, clouds or, more literally, sea waves. wavy lines are also easy on the eye, making them aesthetically pleasing in interior design
